Custom-made water show
50 years of CroisiEurope
- City : Strasbourg, France
- 2026
Aquatique Show created a custom-made water show for CroisiEurope to celebrate the company’s 50th anniversary.
This water show was presented during the final gala evening of the Cruise Festival, held in Strasbourg. This anniversary event brought guests together for a festive and immersive program, combining entertainment and themed evenings, culminating in this grand final entrusted to Aquatique Show.
Installed directly on the water in the heart of the Port of Strasbourg, the stage design transformed the port’s north terminal into a large-scale stage, visible from the quays and from the eight boats brought in for the occasion. The show combined dancing fountains, light displays, giant projections on water screens, flames and pyrotechnic effects in a sequenced staging building to a crescendo.
Classical dancing fountains as a tribute to French origins
The show’s opening pays homage to France and the company’s Alsatian roots. Imperial pyramids, inspired by French formal gardens, appear within the first few seconds and structure the space with elegant and recognizable water forms.
Around these structures, slender lines of straight jets complete the composition. Initially low, these jets create a simple pattern that gradually becomes more elaborate.
An expanding water show design with projections on water screens
The scenography then gains in scale. The jet lines widen and become more powerful, while the first water screens appear. These projection surfaces introduce a narrative dimension by allowing the appearance of images and patterns.
This progression accompanies the shift from a local focus to an opening towards Europe, before taking the audience to more distant horizons.
The water compositions become denser, combining straight jets, Flower jets, and Moving jets, which enrich the choreographic structure and accompany the musical progression.
A dreamlike journey across continents
A series of scenes takes the viewer through different visual and sound worlds. Egypt is evoked by pyramids projected onto the water surface, enhancing the architectural effect of the water scene.
Asia unfolds through animated dragon figures on water screens, while Africa is suggested by more organic musical and visual atmospheres, blending animal patterns and light effects.
A variety of effects serving the water show
Technical elements support this increase in intensity. A central King Lys, reaching up to 30 meters in height, structures certain key sequences and reinforces verticality.
Double rotating sun jets draw luminous figures in motion, creating strong visual focal points within the choreography. Flames and fog effects punctuate the scenes and enhance the immersive experience.
An international water fresco
The projections evolve from Mediterranean and Oriental inspirations towards Asian, African, and American evocations. They embrace the water volumes, accompanied by increasingly spectacular lighting and pyrotechnic effects.
The overall composition creates a large-scale immersive fresco, where narrative and abstraction blend in the service of the journey.
Final Gala
Presented as the highlight of the evening, the water show punctuates the gala dinner with a powerful visual moment, combining water, sound, light, and pyrotechnic effects in a progressive crescendo.
A historic collaboration
This creation extends a long-standing collaboration between CroisiEurope and Aquatique Show, already marked by several large-scale productions during the river cruise company’s 35th and 40th anniversaries.
This ongoing partnership is part of an artistic and technical relationship established over the years, centered around the design of custom-made water shows to accompany CroisiEurope’s key events.
